I am totally surprised I hadn’t seen Cyber City Oedo 808 in the heyday of my watching obsession, thereby providing a few hours of cyberpunk infused entertainment. I have been increasingly attracted to the techno-genre in the past year and this one did not disappoint. Awash with technical diagrams, I couldn’t let this be missed on the blog. A little more info of the series can be found below (pulled from wiki):

Cyber City Oedo 808, directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, is a seminal Cyberpunk anime set in the year 2808 in the megalopolis of Oedo (Tokyo). To combat computerised crime more effectively, the Cyber Police unit of the future Japanese city of Oedo has restarted the feudal practice of hōmen, employing hardened criminals with a history of hi-tech offences and other crimes such as murder as officers themselves. Although there are no specifics to what kind of society the series is based in, it is presented as very high-tech but also with a very dystopian feel. All of the extensive computer graphics used in each episode were actually hand drawn since the production was made before the age of digital media.
