I’ve made quite the blunder for taking such a long time to finally read the infamous Heavy Metal magazine. In all fairness it was perhaps the best idea to wait until my twenties to tackle such an eclectic compilation of comics, as now in my more mature state I can gain so much more than had I attempted in my teens. The amazing amount of quality put into each individual story coupled with mouth watering visuals that have seemingly forced me to post that which truly stands out. As I read more, hopefully I can introduce to others what I have enjoyed as well as promote artists that may/may not have been lost in the pages of time.
First off is Daniel Torres (born August 20, 1958, in Teresa de Cofrentes, Valencia), a Spanish comics artist and writer, known for several series, including Rocco Vargas. Being an avid fan of Chris Ware, I love his use of clear-lines and retro vibrancy in colour and form.

These set of images I found heavy with a morbid undertone yet irresistible. They way the artists crafts a story around such staunchness had me chuckling to a few arrangements of mischievousness. Sadly I could not locate who the artists was so if anyone would like to point me in the right direction, that would be amazing!
