Recently I got a tickle of an e-mail informing me that I have been selected to be included in the first dedicated issue of Clone Magazine for graphics and illustration. So free e-pints for all! As you can see on the left, it was the piece I had recently done for my brother/artist Mad Flows for his upcoming album. Congratulations to all the others who made it into this great first collection and make sure to check out the website for the upcoming online exhibition of all the submissions.
New Work

Also for a nice addition I thought I might post up another little piece I was working on in the interim based on geometric scaling as well. I think your eyes might play some fun games after you stare at the center for too long…
Posted on: March 27th, 2009 Engram

For the first post here (ever!), why not set off the mood with a decent tune first eh? First off is the dark and creamy dub-mix by Shackleton of Reminissin’ by Geiom featuring Marita. He does a great job in bringing about a new take on an already fantastic dark dub-step beat so its no surprise that I can’t get it off of my playlist for the past few weeks. In the next few updates I will put some similar tracks up that I find interesting. I would like to point out though that I do tend to enjoy the dark blends (Benga, N-Type, Burial etc.) so I would like to hear your views!
‘Engram’?
Well from what I read in the local online dictionary:
Engram ( ĕn’grăm’): Engrams are a hypothetical means by which memory traces are stored as biophysical or biochemical change in the brain (and other neural tissue) in response to external stimuli.
They are also sometimes thought of as a neural network or fragment of memory, sometimes using a hologram analogy to describe its action in light of results showing that memory appears not to be localized in the brain. The existence of engrams is posited by some scientific theories to explain the persistence of memory and how memories are stored in the brain.
And?
So why not use it for a failing attempt at a clever name for a blog? By which I mean Engram is a tri-annual magazine / digital archive presenting the intricacies of life within the macro-cosmos produced and selected by the collective consciousness of participants such as yourself (Pause to breathe). The first edition of actual printed matter will be this summer 2009 with Engram_1 and announcements will be made as production comes nearer to a close. Until then I look forward to adding a new voice inside your already web 2.0 crammed head.
